When you log into your match you will see a game templet early in the thread ( usually the second post)
There is an example in the post above.
I call your attention to several things:

1) You will see your team and the opposing team

{ In Pre-game your character will be on a team that you play representing your house but you are playing the match as the entire team. In the real game you will just be playing a version of your character ( usually the most expensive or best fit piece that you can afford)}

Open another window and scout them out:
1) Go to HC Realms units section http://www.hcrealms.com/index.php?page=units
2) Go to Advanced Search [the third column on the right]
3) Go to "Group and Sort By" [at the top of the column ]
4) Select "Point Cost "
5) Find the Name box (just below)
6) Select "is"
7) Type in The character name
8) Hit Search
9)A list of all that characters pieces appear in the middle column sorted by point cost
10) Click on the little green plus sign in front of the name
11) That will populate the character in the "Team Build" box on the far left
12) If you click on the name there (or in the middle column) A Display of the dial of that character appears in the far right column
BUT DON'T DO THAT YET (unless your just browsing characters) BECAUSE It will erase your advanced search column
If you are setting up for your game...
13) Repeat steps 7 thru 10 until the team build contains all yours and the opponents team
THEN.............
You can start clicking on the names in the team build box and looking at the dials !!

Hint 1: Now is the time to start preparing your tactical plan to seize the field and crush your enemy based on the relative strengths and weakness of the two squads
Hint 2: Stick to your plan at all costs !!!! but remember "no battle plan no matter how good ever survives first contact with the enemy"

More Important strategic Hint: Get good at the process above as it will be the best way for you to evaluate the worth of all the different versions of your own character-- Play with it (long before real game ) when you learn your character's and Sidekick's possible versions so you can chose your likely favorites and strategize how to spend your character points and resources.

Did you click on the words "The Map" at the end of the last post ? If not do it now ( you could also click on "Wipeout Garage" in the example templet) that will take via "ripple-link "to the game map.

Play with the map a little.
Note the Numbered Circles and how they coincide to the map positions listed in the templet.
All the tokens can be moved by click and dragging
The Red Circles are Heavy Objects and also coincide with the templet.
The Yellow Circles are light Objects and also coincide with the templet.
The Blue Circles are Special Objects and also coincide with the templet when applicable.
The small dots are used as action tokens to mark a character when they take an action.
The Special markers will often be used to represent rumors and the Brick to represent Resources
(Brick will often double as barrier when needed)

There are other cool features like a Line of site tool (figure it out yourself if you like - your all PSotU !) but some you need to know now.
You will need to use the " Map-link" (in the upper left-hand corner ) each turn.

As you take your turn move your characters, objects, KO opponents, assign or clear action tokens, etc. click and drag accordingly on the map.
Whenever you hit "Map-Link" it updates the moves you have made.
At the end of your turn hit "map-link" to "copy" the map
then:
1) clink on the code displayed in the box at the top.
2) select and copy it
The copy can be pasted as a link into your game thread
3) click the URL box at the top of the page where you are typing a turn:
appears
4) put an equal sign = after the first like so :

5) paste your copyed map link after the = sign:
copyed long garble
6) then write whatever you want to call the map ("Wipeout Garage" in our example) in the space between the brackets
Your Map name here

looks like this when posted Your Map Here

The Map and Templet work in tandem to keep track of the game each turn your last post will be an updated templet containing a link to the updated map.

Next lets talk about Templet management.............

Welcome Back Let us discuss some templet conventions.......

Image

It Contains in order:

1) The VS Line: which deliniates the combatants and usually the point cost:
Round 1
Xavier Institute VS The House of M

2) The Symbol Key: defines icon use to note common or unique game situations.
Symbol Key
:stealth: = Stealth
:shield: = pped up DV
:idontthinkso: = Outwitted
:thumbdown: = PPed down

Typically the symbol is placed after a character's name to note the condition:
1) J23 Nightcrawler :stealth: :idontthinkso: (super senses) :thumbdown: (Dam)
indicates that Nightcrawler ( at spot J23) is currently Stealthed, but has his Supersenses Outwitted and is Damage -1

3) The Map link : where you post the updated maplink each turn (see last post)
Map Link: Wipeout Garage

4) Team A's Roster: Includes characters (and map numbers) and positions and information about current situation
Update the map position if the character moves and update "particulars"
Certain symbols aid this:
@ = action token
! = clicks of damage [ (3!) = three clicks down]

"1) H4 Nightcrawler :stealth: @@ (!) "
means : character 1 (Nightcrawler) is in stealth with two action tokens and on his second click (i.e. has one click of damage )

5) The KO line
Delete KOed characters from the team section and repaste them here when they are KOed

6) The Conditional Line
Conditionals

Here is where you list things that typically affect what your team is up to during your opponent's turn like:
* What Team Ability each of your Wild Cards are copying
* Whether your Mastrermind figures will mastermind damage they recieve and to whom
* Whether your Combat reflexes characters desire to be Knockbacked if damaged
* etc.
Usually cool and friendly players will try and remind opponents of some of these things if overlooked

example:
Conditionals
Magneto will mastermind to Sabretooth
All wildcards will take mystics
This sort of thing

7) The B's sides stuff
Second verse - same as the first

8) The Field Section
Includes the positions of Objects ( Light, Heavy, Special, smoke hindering terrain( rubble) , etc.)
Update it when an object, moves, is created, is destroyed.

9) The Summary: Advance the turn number < EVERYONE FORGETS THIS !! DON'T YOU START THIS TOO !!!>
Also Note major changes ( usually damage, signifigant outwits, game specifics)

Typical example after turn 4B:
Turn Summary 5A of 12
Sabretooth takes 3 and is KBed to T7
Magneto's Speed power outwitted
Rumor at H7 Scored
Nightcrawler takes one push damage

10) Score line: update the score (in our example Sabretooth was KOed and a rumor was scored)

Score
X-Men : 73 Rumors: 1 (H7)
House of M : 0 Rumors: 2 (T4) and (k16)

GREAT I GET IT BUT HOW DO I DO THAT EACH TURN WITHOUT A TON OF TYPING ????!!!!!??? :doh:

Glad you asked! ;)
when you have finished your turn go back to the last summary (your opponents) and click "Quote" in the upper right hand corner
that will bring up a post reply window containing the most recent summary.
Delete the little quote things that frame it and all elase that does not apply.
then update things like :

* New character positions (usually on your guys sometimes on opponents)
* New damage taken (usually opponents sometimes yourself)
* KOs
* Copy and paste the new map Url
* Update object position/exsistence
* Write a summary
* Advance the turn
* update the score
* Hit submit
Posting your summary tells your opponent that you are absolutely done and that it is their turn so be careful
if you forget little pieces just quote yourself fix it up and repost DON'T EDIT !!!!

Now its Time to study some examples:
Any off Badger's games (esp the ones against Ice Wolf ) give reasonable examples of how to combine color with mechanics:

Check out: some of these for examples (and be sure to look for stray pages from divers notebooks -- always be --- Watching:

JSA - Long Gauntlet
or
Hellfire Gaunlet
or even
Last Season Championship game

Remember When Moving:
*) Number your actions : 1) means action 1 2) means action 2 FM) Means Free action
*) Say where you move to ( Beast to F5) and what you are doing ( Outwits Green Arrows RCE)
{ Flavor it when you can: FM) Beast barrel rolls to F5 and inverts Green Arrow's Quiver with a slip kick (OW RCE) }
Consider adding a picture: ( with dialouge when it would be cool
*) keep moving until its time for a die roll
*) Roll dice using the "Dice Roller" above the text entry box -- it has pull downs for number and type of dice
*) Continue your turn with a new post after a die roll
*) Rinse and repeat until you are done with your turn
*) Post a summary by quoting the most recent Templet and making appropriate changes ( see Using the Templet )

*) ask for help:
PM:
badger
Icewolf200
MaD DawG
Jason Pottapoff
