Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
You could have picked Constrictor, I think that would constitute going bad.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
I've had some decent luck with Puppet Master. Used him a couple times. Mad Hatter is always fun too.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
Well, there is that, I've also tried playing with figs other people have said were horrible, just to try and make them work somehow. Though this was all before the SuperNova.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
agreed. one of the most fun leagues we had was the 'build' worse team league....where you built a (I think if memory is right) a 400 point team and then played every other Capts team except yours. There were two winners in the League: Capt with the best win loss record..and Capt who created the team who lost the most.
made for a fun League.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
I remember reading that league. Some of the ideas that came out of that were great, and entertaining.

Well, he can't take any more of the ones you were going to choose.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
rjcarpenter wrote: I forgot to ask - although it might be relevant... Can the commish trade figs? Does the Commish's team not exist in the free agent pool? Do figures that reach 5 "tokens" get relegated to the Commish's team until the playoffs? (They get reset for the playoffs right? or did i miss that - and if they get reset how are tokens going to work in the playoffs - since i doubt it'd be fair to have supes run every round in the playoffs?)
I should stick this in rules as well. For trading as much as I am tempted i'm going to say no. If I felt uneasy about the exhibition games and me having an affect on the league results I should be even more uneasy with being able to directly affect the results by making trades. The Commish's team does not exist in the free agent pool. Essentially what I will do is draft from the eligible characters once the draft is over, to form my team (one could say I have draft picks but they just happen to all be Round 18 draft picks). Then after that I do the random thing to determine who ends up making it to the free agents pool. I will not be able to drop players and sign free agents (since I will not be a part of the standings and a team's ranking helps determine if they get a free agent). Interesting idea for the characters who max out their games (go to the Commish's team) but no they stay on their team's roster. As for the playoffs: Quote: Instead of the max Games Played system, in the playoffs figures who are KO'd in a game will miss the next playoff game. Feat is lost if figure using feat is KO'd. No token system for character so characters can play in all three playoff games if they are able (* I am not entirely decided on this point. I am open to using the token system so a character cannot play more than 2 consecutive playoff games in a row). No Free Agent signings during playoffs but Feats can be purchased between rounds. You can also roll on the infirmary but I did not change the chart so it is pretty much pointless to roll on it. I set it in the rules that there is no token system for the playoffs so as long as the figure does not get KO'd he can play as many playoff games as he wants. Although I did note that I was open to using the token system to limit them to 2 consecutive games if that's what the majority of people prefer. rjcarpenter wrote: During the playoffs is the commish going to have a battle royal with an "all in" field your entire roster in a 4 move round on a giant map that I'll make for it? (Non Playoff teams only?)
Hmm. I was considering doing original style Smackdown (the non-playoff teams play fielding all of their figures in one game, whoever survives makes it to the next round) but the battle royal idea sounds like a neat idea...

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
Jscotty, Daring D, Mwposse, Impulse-ive, Rjcarpenter, Hero of angels, Clixhunter, Spideysean102 and icewolf200 have all drafted a full roster of characters, their Round 17 picks must be for scenarios.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
Oh and I forgot to mention. I'm going to say the commissioner's team cannot buy or use feats. I don't want to mess around with me accumulating money to buy feats and I tend not to use feats that often anyways so I don't think it is worth the hassle.
And my team will also be limited to the max number of games played for each character.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
I think you made a good choice for scenario as well. You will probably like that one and odds are you will get to see it in action during the regular season so you will be at least somewhat familiar with it come playoff time.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
Saw it in previous seasons and looked like fun. Always liked the OMAC figures.

Re: Season 7: Discussing the Draft
Passing on Bronze Tiger, Apoc, ----, ----, & ---- killed me, but these last three picks better served the flow of my team.
icewolf - Though unlikely (and perhaps foolish) the addition of Apoc means you'd never have to field an expensive thor if you liked the frog (Spectre or Apoc in every match). I must admit to being worried by some of your decisions, but Apoc (and Spectre) make it very hard to beat you in scenarios based on victory points.
Impy - Thank you. I really needed to draft Polaris (I can say that because nobody else is left that can draft a figure, right?), but not taking Bronze Tiger these last 4 rounds has hurt. I cannot wait to see how these higher competitive, but cheese free, teams do this year. Thanks to whomever took Songbird too.

It was hard to stay on theme and just watch all that talent go I don't thin k I will do it again
