Lance gave me an idea. I was wondering with The PFHL running and there being more action around here, if we could start up a little 8 man league that would be a little less competitive than the PFHL. I absolutely love the PFHL but it defintiely stresses competitve teams rather than "fun" games. (Obviously the games are incredibly fun over there... but just for a different reason than I'm talking about here).

One idea that came to my mind was a league that eliminated certain versions of characters. You could run Dr. Strange... just not the Secret Invasions version. Maybe just limit Superman to the versions without HSS? Maybe we could all submit a list of guys too "cheesy" to play? These details would be figured out before the start of any draft.

If we did 4 good teams and 4 evil teams (2 each from DC and Marvel) there would be plenty of non cheesy characters left to play. If you have a Marvel good guy team, you could either build from any Marvel good guy available... or we could split marvel good guys into to halves according to cominc accuracy (ig someone who knows this kind of stuff has any free time).

Are there 8 people interested in pursuing this at all?

Ive played a good many theme games since HC has come out..its my favorite way to play.

Heres an idea.

Have a draft.

Each player drafts 3 team abilities

1 DC Good & 1 Marvel Bad & One Indy...Only one Wild card team may be chosen

or 1 DC Bad & 1 Marvel Good & One Indy

Teams are built from those having those Team Abilities...Non-aligned figures are out.

No figure can be played that is over 150 points.
No version of a figure can be played in more than 1 game.

and FYI, Im working on a LoEG version of the smackdown right now...itll take me probably the better part of a month to get it done, but then Ill have lots of games that will be able to be played by whoever wants to.

I like Clixhunter's plan, though I would suggest changing the rules to being able to draft by keyword rather than just TA.

Clixhunter got married and also has health issues.

Stimpy has always had health issues.

Lancelot is busier than me and doesn't have the job access I enjoy (only reason I'm still around).

Iceman is a big movie star now.

That leaves maybe 5-10 regular posters and another half dozen that post when they can (like yourself).

Of those I see on everyweek we don't always post: K26dp, Badger, Hero, RJC, myself and anybody else that finished the PFHL.

mwposse and Impy are in the final game, so they post regularly and mwposse will always get a game (or 5) going.

Besides the topic isn't a month old it's a year old.

I'm all for a comic related theme thing Maybe even radomally assigned - with a chance to trade factions before we start (Like if Jordan want's the FF and I got them - He takes them instead and I take his JSA) - I'll play anyone and make it fun.

Look for something formal by dec 1st.

If a new league is still in the works. How about one that does a different set of boosters each week. Or based on scenario you get a draw from certain boosters. The strategy and fun that could come would be great. Also, one of the last leagues I took part in before CM went down was one based around Theme Teams. I was enjoying playing as the Suicide Squad then and would be up for that as well. Lets bring CM back to its former glory and keep the dice god's daughter busy.
